Support » Plugin: ACF Post-2-Post » Bidirectional relationship book and author

  • I have a CPT called books and would like to create a bidirectional relationship with the authors.
For “books” I created a relationship field called “Autor”, linked to the post type “authors” and for authors I created a relationship field called “B├╝cher”, linked to my books.
But the relationship update is not working and I don’t see me mistake. I usually select a book’s author when adding a new book, but checking all my authors, none of them is linked to its books.
    I would appreciate your help!

The problem is that both fields must have the same name. For example “authors_books”.

Thanks for your fast reply! I read about that and renamed my fields, now both called “Authors_Books” but it’s still not working. I updated my authors but it’s still not displaying any books.

I just tested the plugin and it’s working for me.

Please make sure that you are following all the requirements

    1) The fields must have identical field names
    2) the fields must be at the top level — fields cannot be sub fields of a repeater, flexible content field or group field
    3) You must be using ACF Version 5 or greater

Hm that’s weird, I know it’s hard for you to analyze a problem from far away.
But I have identical field names, it’s always a top level field. A “relationship” field. And my ACF Version is 5.7.2.

There is a new version of ACF, 5.7.4 not sure if this is affecting anything, but you can try updating. Also, you could try deactivating other plugins and let me know if there is another plugin causing a conflict.
