• I’ve spent more than enough time trying to get this plugin to work. I’m just going to publish through the Apple News channel. This plugin sucks!

We reached out to you multiple times and asked for information to help debug your particular issue. When asked for further information, you chose to complain rather than participate in the process: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/error-message-upon-trying-to-publish

Open source software is a two way street that sometimes requires participation to troubleshoot. Impatience can lead to frustration and unfortunately under those circumstances, we can’t help you.

It’s cool that it’s open source, but I’ve had plenty of open source plugins with zero problems. You’ve sent me in about ten different directions, and truth be told, you have some bugs to fix.

Your problem didn’t align with any of the most common issues people have experienced, so we were trying to get more information to help you out. Apple News format is highly specific and complex and a bit of troubleshooting can be required as any number of third party plugins, unexpected markup or hosting misconfigurations can cause some issues.

We can’t actually fix any bugs if the people who report them aren’t willing to assist in the process.

jrunfitpro, Bradford is offering you both a free product and help to implement the solution. Apple News is new and there are issues. I’d suggest you reconsider a one star review (if Bradford ignored you or refused to help you or had abandoned the plugin, your anger would be understandable). Right now you are kicking a person who has tried to help you in the shins. That can’t be what you mean to do.

At worst, I’d say a three star review (something along the lines of I couldn’t get it to work on my site even with help from the plugin author and I don’t have any more time to waste troubleshooting the issues) would be fairer to the plugin author. Remember we authors are giving up our free time to package this code for you and share this code with the world. Unmerited one star reviews are extremely discouraging. Too many of them and there won’t be any more quality open source code.

    Thanks, Alec.
