This plugin is now part of their suite, which is not exactly cheap.. so if you are only looking for CPT’s functionality I guess “Custom Post Type UI” is the go to option. I now have to find a way to painlessly convert my existing CPT’s created with this to “Custom Post Type UI”.

    Thank you for the feedback.

There is a blogpost about this, from last year.

Right now, you can still download the free Types plugin.
But as soon the new Types 3.0 is released this version of the WordPress repos will not receive any more updates and Types will become part of Toolset.

Types is still available as it always was.
Here you can even get development and older versions.
But it will not receive updates anymore after this release 3.0

Toolset itself was never Free, and the cost did not necessarily increase because Types is a part of it now.

If you need only the Types part, I can as well suggest the code generators that WordPress offers, they become better and better:
    https://generatewp.com/

This is not the same as the GUI Types offers but it is very powerful if you at the end just need to create the data and display it within your templates using PHP or custom shortcodes.

    I think:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-post-type-ui/
is a good option, not sure why you decided to make the Types part only part of the paying Toolset (not sure it is a good move on your part).. had it been the case since the beginning I would have stuck with “Custom Post Type UI” above.. which is quite popular and has be around for a year longer I believe and is still free.

This move as well, amongst other things, will allow us to invest much more resources into Types, which in turn benefits the end user of the Plugin.

I apologise that this does interrupt your workflow.

If you plan to proceed with a Plugin probably then the best option is to switch software, unless you plan on the long term to get more power in the website and use Toolset.
