Support » Plugin: WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – E-MAILiT » beware of popup ads

  • This is ad-ware, plain and simple.

    Easy installation.
    Nice look.

But each user gets an ad . Test this plugin before using!

They will say that you can create an account and redesign your buttons, or some such, and then you can disable the ads.

    hello,

most of what’s great about the Internet is free. Why? In a word: advertising. E-MAILiT is an advertising-supported service, which means that we are able to offer many of our services without charge to you by displaying advertising on our platform and on partner websites. Revenue generated from these ads supports E-MAILiT. We’re displaying these targeted ads (this feature is optional and can be turned off anytime or you can use it exclusively for you by monetizing your website through a share button like ours, also for free) so we can continue offering free products and services that help you expand your awareness and generate money too! Delivering and maintaining such a platform to you is expensive but if you don’t want to participate we perfectly understand!

    No problem about that.
I simply installed another plugin that does the same job without ads.

But the point here is that you should alert potential users about what you say in the description of this plugin. I read it again but didn’t find ANY disclaimer of this sort. That is the problem.

    Indeed. +1 John’s comment.

I installed “Simple Share Buttons Adder” which uses a freeware model of very nice free basic buttons, plus enhanced for price version , and am very satisfied so far.

Leaving this E-MAILiT ad-ware and its preachy attitude far behind.

FYI I also installed another one that works really great:

We are not forcing anyone to display our ads.

We are a completely free service and we support the option to disable the advertising feature and it is not disturbing to you or your visitors.

A disclaimer has been added at the plugins page description.

    Also:

    • You can create revenue and keep it all and begin creating money from your sharing button
    • Generate incremental ad revenue to supplement your existing revenue sources
    • Activate ad campaigns and target your sharers
    • Easy to configure and can also create a new revenue stream
    • Create new inventory by enabling ads that emerge from the buttons without having to change your page layout

We allow you to display your own ads too. We help Publishers to monetize the sharing of their site’s content by creating a new source of income while enjoying higher CTR; we achieve this by offering the option to display in-Share-Button Ads, an additional way of creating Ad Campaigns, with less cluttering.

E-MAILiT enables Publishers to monetize their content with the After the Share Ad Unit. When somebody shares web content, Publishers have the option to take advantage of After the Share Ad to deliver targeted advertising to their viewers/visitors/sharers/followers/advertisers/audience. It’s the perfect time to deliver advertising when your viewers are actively engaged in content they would like to share with their friends. If you have an internal ad sales team, you can choose to fill this inventory with ads of your own. It is your responsibility to ensure your choice of ad display settings is in compliance to the terms and conditions defined by the ad network you setup as in-share-button-ad.

Thanks for the clarification and the plugin update in relation with this.
I see you added this at the plugin’s description and that’s fine like that.

Thank you E-MAILiT for explaining the potential it has to keep those ads up. I just installed the plugin and was very pleased with the design, it goes perfect with my site, but the ads were just a let-down. I searched ways to get rid of them, but after reading this I’m more interested in learning how to use the ads and display my own.
Where can I find out more information?

    Thank you in advance.
