Support » Fixing WordPress » Best way to show selected posts on home page?

  • I want my homepage to only show posts from one category “news” and not show from a second category “company provided.” I’m speaking of the standard posts on a blog page.

I would then show the second category on a separate page and/or widget.

I may be missing something obvious as I migrate from Joomla to WordPress. In Joomla, I can choose the home page posts by marking them “featured.” How can I limit which posts go on the homepage? (By mark or by category.)

I’m comfortable if the suggestions include recommended plugins.

Thanks Kartik but this answer is about displaying posts in widgets or other pages.

What I’m trying to do is control which posts show on the main part of the homepage blog.

    Hello daveburstein,

Yes, I got your point. The plugin would surely help, but I see you are using an allegiant Pro Theme by CPOThemes.

Currently how you are displaying the Post on your homepage? Are they coming from some widget or it is theme setting?

You might have removed and use the shortcode provided by the plugin, or you should surely have some option in theme setting to do that, as your is a pro theme.

Approach the Theme Support and they will best assist you.

    Thanks,
    Kartik
