    Hi,

Is ‘Combine and link deferred in head (fonts load late, but are not render-blocking), includes display:swap.’ still the best option for loading fonts? Because although I have it selected, Google PageSpeed still complains about the Google Fonts in ‘Eliminate render-blocking resources’.

    Thanks!

the best way is not to load webfonts, but if using Google fonts then yes “aggregate & link deferred” _should_ be the best option.

Thanks, Frank. You mention that ‘the best way is not to load webfonts’. What’s the alternative? Using only the 5 or 6 system fonts available? Or is there another way of using pretty fonts without loading Google fonts?
    Thanks!

well, I don’t believe in pretty fonts really, so indeed use simple “serif” or “sans-serif”, most users won’t even notice and your site’s performance will profit from it šŸ˜‰
