I’m sorry if this has been asked before but I’m 5+ hours in trying to get Polylangs pll__ to work with a custom scheduled reminder email and gave up…. Woocommerces __( strings worked out of the box and I added the new content to the template of woocommerce and synced it with the desired language. All works but I read in the docs it is not advisable to change the template and after an update the new text strings may be gone.

So the solution I see is to either

    # not update WooCommerce

    # move the edited default po in a secure folder location (but miss updates to translations on updates)

    # create a new textdomain

Since I created a scheduled email via functions with relevant woocommerce order details, I fear I end up with the same Polylang issue that the 3rd party strings won’t show up creating a new textdomain. The root issue with PL once the email gets scheduled the pll strings won’t show the translation somewhat an issue with get_user_locale( $order_id ).

    Is there any other solution?

    Don’t prod.

Your question hasn’t been answered as it seems to be about Polylang and WooCommerce. This forum is for Loco Translate.

No at all and has nothing to do with Polylang as I said cleary that I ditched the polylang solution as it did not work… If you read my help request the question was which is appropriate to do / a good solution:

    # create a new textdomain

    1. please be polite
    2. as Tim W mentioned, consider to contact Polylang support, as this is not Loco translate issue and there is no need to press-on Loco translate plugin support to solve other plugin problems
