Support » Fixing WordPress » Best way for permalinks / linking of articles

• Hello,

I wonder what would be the best logic structure for my website of a sports club. I intent to use categories for the different teams, reports etc.
Right now, I changed the permalink structure to:
“/%category%/%postname%.html”.
Is it okay to put the “.html” behind each article?

What would you recommend?

is it ok? I guess.

would I recommend it? No.

why Not? The better question is why. .html is a file extension. Nothing else nothing more. It doesnt do anything for anything, except make your permalinks longer.

Most people spend hours trying to figure out to get rid of file extensions like .html, .htm, .php, etc.. thats called being cruft-free 🙂

Hi,

thanks for the hint.
For better understanding, I will post the link to my project, which can be found here:
MY Project

As you can see, the navigation is setup with pages and categories.
The sites for the different teams (ladies and mens) are arranged with categories, the rest is designed to be static pages.
If you navigate through my site, you´ll find some errors and problems with hierarchy and / or logic, I guess.
– How can I correct the mistakes?
– what would you recommend?

Thanks for all your help in advance.
