• I spent a day testing every tabs plugin I could find (and there are quite a few!)… and Tabs Responsive is in my opinion the best of the lot. It’s solid – I haven’t found a single glitch or bug anywhere. It has many options, and it’s easy to use. I like that it can nest tabs, and also having the choice between horizontal and vertical tabs is great.

My first attempt at using this plugin is [link removed]. I’ll be using it across my entire site eventually.

I did find that the default WordPress search did not pick up the contents of the tabs (because it uses shortcodes and custom post types). I tried a few “search everything” plugins (and there are a few of those, as well), and none of them worked, until I came across one called “Relevanssi”, which enhances the WP search. It’s another excellent plugin, with many features which I haven’t begun to look at yet, but, most importantly for me, it includes the contents of Tabs-Responsive pages by a) recognizing the custom post type that TR uses, and b) recognizing and unpacking the shortcode. Nice.

Things I would like to see, and would pay for in a pro version: tab set templates, and/or the ability to clone tab sets, and some way to quickly preview a tab.

Thanks to the developers for creating such a solid and useful plugin.
