Can someone here recommend a great photo gallery plugin? Looking for something that is lean and simple … don’t need any big database-driven engine, no fancy user comments, just a simple photo browsing plugin. I’ve got tons of photos in tons of different directories and subdirectories, so I don’t want to be uploading photos through the admin; I’d want to be able to upload through FTP and have the plugin adopt the folder structure, and let the user browse that structure on the blog.

Does anything like this exist? Thanks in advance!

Well, You can do a dump and run thing using my AWSOM Pixgallery plugin. At the most basic you simply add you photos to your site by ftp, then add a code referencing the main folder into a post or page, and the plugin will do the rest. If you want captions and other fun stuff later you can add them, but those are optional. Try it out by getting it from my site at

I am not familiar with the above plugin, so I cannot compare, but another option would be the NextGen Gallery.

It allows for import-from-directory and it is completely wordpress-based.
