  • Good day all,

I created an intranet with CakePHP and I want to do it with WordPress now.
I have experices with a lot of CMS (integration, developpement) but some with wordpress.

My actual intranet has some admin page for my collaborators. They can update their profile, their publications, reseraches topics (and more) and I also create a PHP holiday request.

My idea is to create a WordPress account for each collabotator. But then I will have to give them an access to the wp-admin panel and hide some all menu of the Dsahboard and to create new like

    My profile
    –> my expertise
    –> my publication
    –> my reserach
    –> my education
    –> my work experience

From each page, the can update their profile and update the database

Our mein web page (CQ5) will extract the data from the DB with RSS feed. (it how I do not, because it’s the only way to accomplish it (CQ5 and RSS)).

Which kind of advise you can give me to start that development job?
Feel you to ask additional information

    Cheers

  • Or better,

I just creates a new user with athor permission and from the Dashboard, I can see a menu “Profile”.

In case I have not wrote it, I just make a new installation of WordPress on my server.
I download wordpress5.1.1 zip and upload it to my web server. I ran the install successefuly.

Under “Profile” would it be possible, and how, to create submenus like
    Profile
    –> my expertise
    –> my publication
    –> my reserach
    –> my education
    –> my work experience

Then for each sub-menu page, have a php script which request and display the data from the MySQL database, and form to add, modify, update personnal data?

I think that with your experience and ability a multisite would possibly fit the bill with what would amount to a ‘WordPress’ for each user. The overhead for a multisite isn’t all that much heavier than for an individual site when you factor in the customizations you’d need to support the restrictions on each user otherwise.

    Take a look at it.
