 * What is the best practice for adding additional product fields? Examples include
product model, product color, etc. Ideally I’d like to be able to filter the
catalog page using some of these fields, and also display them on the product
details page which I’ve built using Elementor.
    I’ve noticed some folks recommend
using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) plugin, but is that actually the best practice?
   Seems more like a hack.

 * Hi [@dannydandan123](https://wordpress.org/support/users/dannydandan123/)
 * It depends what you’re trying to do exactly, but in most cases, you can use WooCommerce’s
   [attributes](https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/managing-product-taxonomies/)
   for that.
 * For example, if you sell cars on your site, then every car can have the additional
information in attributes: color, model, year, etc. In this case, these attributes
are just for informational purposes. Each attribute would have a **name** (e.
   g. color) and one **value** (e.g. blue).
 * You can also use attributes to give your customers options to select, if you
sell items with different variations. For example, if you sell clothing, then
you can set up a [Variable Product](https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/variable-product/),
with various attributes such as size or color. Each attribute would then have
a **name** (e.g. color) but more than one value **value** (e.g. blue, red, black,
etc). The customer can then select which color they want.
 * Let me know if that helps, or if you’re looking for something different!
