I’m building a site that has a static front page and is based on the Graphene theme (highly altered).
What I’m trying to achieve: I want there to be a slideshow image with featured text in the bottom left-hand corner that does not link to anything and is not an articleimg from another post. I just want a photo slideshow with captioned text.
I’d like to use Featured Content Gallery or NextGen, but I can’t seem to customize them to do this. I want exactly what Featured Content Gallery looks like, but I want it only on my static home page, and within the content of that page (not the header).
NextGen doesn’t seem to have the capability to add a caption, but does have the ability to shortcode into the content.
From my understanding, you must put the php code for the Featured Content Gallery into your loop to get it to work. Within the Graphene theme, however, there is no home.php file.
How do I put the Featured Content Gallery into just the content area of the homepage in the Graphene theme? Or does NextGen have the capability to add captions within the image boundary?
Any help would be great.
