• A little difficult to setup some of the API functions, but well worth it once you have. It’s literally the ONLY plugin out there offering this level of integration with various image hosts. It’s unbelievable to me that Google + Flickr don’t have native embedding available, but thankfully this plugin exists to get as close as possible.

Dev is very helpful in answering questions as well. Highly recommended if you were at the end of the road like I was!

    Thank you for the feedback.

If you don’t mind giving me some pointers, I would like to understand this better:

A little difficult to setup some of the API functions

Are there any specific areas you are referring to? What would you have me improve?

By any chance are you talking about the process of setting up the Google Client ID and performing the authentication? If so, I have been working with Google to radically simplify the process. Currently users have to create their own Client IDs because of API quota issues. Each Google Project is capped at 10,000 calls per day, and Photonic has way too many users of Google Photos for this to be sufficient. I am working to get my own Client ID’s quota bumped up. If this works out, users will only have to perform the authentication, not create the API keys.

This will also make the authentication easier and I don’t have to direct users to a separate authentication process in case of conflicts with other plugins.

Yes, Google is entirely to blame on this one. IMO, they really botch user experiences with confusing setup and layout sometimes; non-intuitive UI design. However, thanks to your CRYSTAL CLEAR setup instructions, I was able to get everything going on the second attempt (easy to miss a step when there are that many).

Glad to hear you’re doing everything in your power to make up for their shortcomings. They should really take cues from independent developers like yourself and be more involved in the feedback process. They need to design for their users, not to satisfy their own minimalist ideals.
