Support » Plugin: Events Manager » Best Method For Yoga Classes Booked in Blocks of 5?

  • Resolved orchomh

I’m developing a website for yoga classes, which are held every Friday in blocks of 5, which the student pays for upfront in one instalment.

The Events Manager Pro plugin is great in some ways but if I create the 5-session yoga classes as a recurring event, the events page lists each event separately, whereas I need each student to know they are booking five consecutive Friday classes.

    What suggestions do you have?

Thanks very much for your help!

    try this steps:

    1. create a ‘master’ event, it can span from the start/end dates, with bookings enabled
    2. create a recurring set for your real events without bookings enabled
    3. in your recurring events description, show the booking form for the ‘master event’

    [event event_id=”x”]#_BOOKINGFORM[/event]

now all bookings in those individual events will be booking the ‘master event’, and you can manag bookings in one place.

If need be, you can hide the ‘master event’ from the calendar using shortcodes and categories, of I think you can also make the ‘master event’ a private event, bookings will still work.

Thank you so much for your response and helpful advice.

It sounds like it might give me a solution, but your step 1 mentions spanning from the start to end date. We, however, need the recurring events to be, for example, every Tuesday in August – not August 1st to August 31st, with the recurring events as the dates for each Tuesday.

Does that make sense and do you think your suggested solution will still work?

Angelo’s suggestion will work for you, yes.

By choosing the dates 1st-31st August you are telling EM to create that event on any Tuesday in August, which is just what you want.
