• Hi,

I’ve recently created a website (treeservicesireland.ie) on WordPress Vantage theme and installed the Yoast SEO plugin. I’ve submitted the site to Google, and it comes up when you search treeservicesireland.ie but not when using any other SEO term – even when you search 30-40 pages deep. As far as I can see the site is optimised properly, but it’s not gaining any traction on Google. The only thing I can think of is the page load speed – which is currently very high. I’ve reduced image sizing and also installed a cache plugin to try and reduce to page speed but this hasn’t worked. Can anyone help?

  • Hi Catherine

    Thanks for reaching out.

Image sizes and and caching plugin are a great place to start with load time. Your hosting provider also plays a big part in your site’s load time. WP Super Cache is a good caching plugin to use. Just keep in mind that certain settings like CSS minification and or JS minifications can sometimes negatively impact themes. You just need to experiment. I usually just use the standard settings.

Also, go to Appearance > Theme Settings > General and enable enqueuing scrips in the site’s footer. That’ll help load time.

SEO is unfortunately a bit beyond our theme support scope. Diving into Yoast’s knowledge base would be a good place to start.
