Beginners Menu Question

Hi,

I am trying to create a second menu, that I’m going to insert into a widget area. Being a bit of an amatuer though I have absolutely no idea how to change the appearance of it.

I’ve created the menu and inserted it into the widget area below header, but it just appears as a list menu. I’m guessing I need to change some CSS but have zero idea where to do this.
