    Hello everyone,

    I’ve been reading tutorials about how to create wordpress theme and i find myself stuck.

    I must create customizable theme, with several different pages (about us, contact, portfolios and that kind of stuff).

    I have managed to get header and footer working.

    Now, my main question is, how to start with the rest of the stuff? I just could not understand if my page (there should be 7 of them) be post of page type?

    Biggest problem is, how to create one web-page that has several different sections, with customizable content? (content inside each sections is user editable).

    Help with the structure for the start would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi, I’m novice, too so I can’t help a lot.
    I think you should make a new page for every page oyou need (about, contacts…)
    Regarding several sections, I think the good direction is to use page builder plugin.

    I am struggling with the concept of pages. If i create new page – for example contact, do i need to create contact.php? How do i show only sections i want there? I am not sure that i am allowed to use third party plugins. Is it possible to do it without plugins?

    WordPress is meant to function with plugins.
    And as far as I know you don’t need to create no .php documents. It’s all done automatically. You just open http://www.yoursite.xyz/wp-admin, log in, click Pages and Add new. And then you customize it. Look for some free video tutorials on youtube or udemy or so. Take free, no need to pay for this.
    Back to plugins, just click Add new, and browse them using keywords. When you find something interesting, check details, how many people and how rated it and then install it.

    And yeah, when instaled, plugins need to be activated. If you don’t like it – deactivate it, and delete if you wish.
