[resolved] "before" and "after" no longer working? (6 posts)

    Hi Anmari,
You've helped a ton with other issues, so I'm hoping you can help with this...
We have a custom field for website (created field in s2member). Previously, we could include the field in a list and put Visit Website in "after" and it would make our members' website clickable. (We had to add in the before and after in the first place because we couldn't make the custom field clickable otherwise.)
However, I just tried to use the links on the public list today and they link back to the same public list page (ie, instead of http://www.membersite.com, it's back to our own site). So, I took out the before and after and their website data is there - it just doesn't work when I add in the above info.
Can you please advise? Do we need to make a change or is there something going wrong maybe?
    Thank you!

    Hi metate,

I suspect it relates to this support question too:

I haven't figured out why and what caused it (ie is it a wp change or what). In trying to debug it seems straight before/after works but anything 'funky' doesn't which leads me to think it is something with encoding/htmlentities .. still looking later today to try isolate between wp versions and plugin versions.

If trying to make a field clickable a safer way may be to write a little site specific formatting function as suggested in the post linked above. Actually quite easy and gives you more control.

Regarding the other thread (which indeed seems related), metate, by chance in your page's code are two consecutive quotation marks showing up anywhere? That's what's messing with the format in my case, where some inline CSS is being ignored because something is causing the system to output a second quotation mark, like <p style=""margin-top: 5px"">.

    Hi Andrew,

3.6.7 should sort it out (works in a variety of my systems)

It was a clash between csv double double quote requirements and classic DB preparation escaping. Plugin started wit the cacheing being csv oriented - hope to revamp that one day as it has morphed beyond that :-)

Remember styling etc probably better to do in a css file.

Ah, sweet, thanks. Ran into one bug with 3.6.7 (and could always be a conflict with another plugin), in that no matter which URL on my site I visited, it loaded the homepage.

Happy to help check that out after a busy day today.

Remember styling etc probably better to do in a css file.

Indeed. :) I always do except for one lazy habit of doing things inline for line- or table-level troubleshooting.

3.6.8's all good. Thanks for the fixes!
