I’m not sure, I have never tried but it may not if the wp-config.php file is not at the root of the wp-path or if any of the default constants for WordPress don’t reflect where the root is. If you have a package that is already pre-configured and setup I can take a look at it closer to see what might need to be tweaked to make it work with that setup.
If you would like for me to investigate it further just submit a support ticket here and refer to this forum thread and we can see what needs to be updated…
Thanks~
I’m using a free version of this plugin and it successfully created a backup with a warning of core files being not found and might need to manually add it or something like that for it to work. And the installation went well until I tried to login and it suggested that I should configure the wp-config file first to continue.
But unfortunately, after editing the wp-config file and its values, it doesn’t redirect me to the login page but instead to a manual installation of WordPress.
I’m not so sure how should I demo it properly for you to check and tweak it. But I think if you have the time to download and install the BedRock framework on your system and do some test backup and migration, I think that might be very useful.
Thanks Cory
Hey @randzgonz02,
If you want to just share the package you built with the bedrock boiler-plate that would help me on this end vs doing all the discovery work from scratch. I can then debug it faster, and apply the changes as needed.
If you have a generic package you can share, that would give me a head start. If you want to share it here, I’ll take a look. Otherwise if that doesn’t work for you then I’ll put this on the task list of items I still have to work on…
Thank
Never mind Cory, I just tested it again and did some changes on the settings to make it work. I just didn’t try to change the URL during the installation. I use something like http://localhost/mysite/ instead of http://mysite.dev and then I was able to browse the site with that localhost link.
The only problem is, the structure of the directories were back to the original WordPress structure instead of the BoilerPlate structure.
Do you think it is possible to migrate the BoilerPlate directory structure using Duplicator?
Thanks,
Randy
Oh, I was trying to install some plugins but they’re producing some php errors. Hmmm my bad.
It may be possible, but it can get pretty complex really quick trying to move around directories etc… People get really upset with some of the smallest changes so something like that would have be thoroughly tested to keep the one star trolls from visiting the forums 🙂
Thanks for the feedback!
