• Super Socializer creates very good-looking share buttons that work. It’s versatile, the instructions are good, and I can’t help liking Heateor’s enthusiasm! But I’ve uninstalled it because:
It inserted “Spread the love” before my shared Facebook text.
It didn’t respect my custom excerpts or Facebook excerpts, just truncated the text instead.
    It’s very poor on accessibility.
    It’s heavy on javascript.

I’m confident the authors would have helped me rectify at least some of these issues but, since simpler solutions are readily available, I’m going for one of those. I should stress, though, that Super Socializer really can give you beautiful share buttons that work nicely! It’s a matter of priorities.

If you created a support thread, we would have helped you out.

It inserted “Spread the love” before my shared Facebook text

This is related to open graph meta tags. If you would install any open graph meta tags plugin, this would have been resolved.

It didn’t respect my custom excerpts or Facebook excerpts, just truncated the text instead.

Same problem and solution as above.

    It’s very poor on accessibility.

What is your expectation? If you provide details, we would be happy to include that in upcoming releases.

    It’s heavy on javascript.

You can load just one Javascript file. There are options to optimize Javascript loading at Super Socializer > General Options page in admin.

Thank you. I really didn’t mean to diss Super Socializer, it’s more that I decided a simpler approach would be better for my purpose.

Regarding accessibility, there are a LOT of stumbling blocks here. Run one of your demo pages through http://wave.webaim.org to get a report. I’ve managed to reduce a combination of Jetpack & NSL buttons to one or two warnings caused by hidden forms (which are necessary) – but handling all the “onclicks” and other issues in Super Socializer would’ve been a very big job.

Thank you for your other advice, which I’m sure will be helpful to new users 🙂

That analysis depends on many factors other than this plugin, like – theme, other plugins etc.
Anyways, we appreciate your feedback 🙂 We will keep improving the plugin in upcoming releases.
