The plugin seems to function well. I’ve added more than 25 FAQ’s, and nothing has broken, crashed, or otherwise malfunctioned. I added the FAQ’s (custom-post-types) thinking that the functionality that’s listed on the description is accurate. NOPE.

Be advised that 90% of the plugin’s functionality is locked in the premium plugin. And not everything listed as a Key Feature is actually a part of the basic/free/open-source/standard plugin.

So if you want to actually use this plugin, you’ll need to buy the premium version. If you’re aware of that at the beginning, it’s not such a big deal. As WP professionals, we do that all the time, right?

It’s just no fun feeling swindled by a misleading description. 🙁

Then how do you find out what is free and what is premium? I am currently using the free and trying to import the FAQ xls file to another site. However, the import button is grey and can’t import. Everything is the same in the new site with categories, tags, and options. I emailed plugin developer. No reply as yet.

After downloading the plugin, you’ll notice a bunch of ads sprinkled throughout the plugin which encourage you to upgrade to Premium. Some of them list Premium features. Also, most of the documentation is videos… and the majority of the videos start off with “We’re going to discuss the Premium feature….”

So when went in search of a solution to a problem, I looked closer at the ads, and then found the videos… 🙁

It could be said it’s my own fault… I’m just not in the habit of reading (or viewing) the documentation prior to installing. Typically I read the description and skim the forums. Lesson learned.

    BTW… the import/export feature is a premium feature 🙁

    Hi cheryl,

I apologize if the description was misleading. It is true that certain things listed in the Key Features are part of the premium version. However, there is also a section in the plugin description that lists premium features, which we hoped would clear up which of the key features are premium.

Also, we tried to make it as clear as possible in our plugin admin which options are premium by either including them in the “Premium” area of the “Options” tab or by blocking them out and having a message indicating that the premium version is required.

That being said, it is absolutely not our intention to mislead people into believing they get more than what’s included in this free version. If I may say so, though, it has the most features of any similar free plugin that you will find, including unlimited FAQs and categories. Nevertheless, we’ll review the description and admin panel to make sure it isn’t set up in a way that is confusing or misleading.

We pride ourselves on our customer service and don’t want that to be the experience people are having.

If there’s anything we can help you with for setting up your FAQs, or perhaps with some workarounds for you to get the functionality you need, please let us know. We’d be glad to help.
