  • Be careful to use Woocommerce, especially in some European countries like Italy or Germany.
WooCommerce does not provide the required fields regarding VAT and Tax Code.
But more seriously does not provide for the sale of products with special VAT rates. Or rather, you can set a fee for each different product, but absolutely inconsistent with other expenses, such as shipping, packing and so on. These charges are flat rate, NOT special.
Solutions? Hire a programmer and assure that the costs are very high. Not to mention that every update is necessary to review the changes.

    Hi there,

What do you mean about special VAT rates? We support multiple tax rates e.g. standard rate, reduced rate and so on. Can you be more specific? Additional tax classes are covered here:

As for adding VAT numbers we offer this extension:

Or you can add the field through code:

Or you can add it via a UI:

I hope you’ll read up on the above resources and reconsider your review 🙁

    1) Fruit: 10 Euros, Tax 21% . Shipping and Packaging: TAX 21%.
    In this case no problem.

    2) Book: 100 Euros. Special Tax 10% (in Italy some products have reduced TAX)
Cost of shipping and packing costs ARE NOT reduced TAX, then Tax at 21%.
In this case there is a problem in the final count.

In WooCommerce Admin, I set 2 taxes:
    1) Standard 21%
    2) Special Tax 10%

Then I create shipping cost 10 Euros and packaging costs 5 Euro. These items must have Tax Standard.

    And then:
    – I create a Product (strawberry), 100 Euros, with Tax Standard 21%
    – I create another New Product (book), 100 Euros, Special Tax 10%
    – Shipping 10 Euros, with Tax Standard 21%
    – Packaging 5 Euros, with Tax Standard 21%

    Try it.

@macrunner If you go to Settings > Tax you can choose to force shipping to to use the standard tax rate (assuming you are using 2.0.x).

@macrunner never ever do hurry in anything, first test every case, and understand whether you have the required skills to understand the problem correctly, and have it tested it on several platforms (test sites etc). And after thorough testing you should comment, so you don’t get embarrassed when you find out that it was you (you lack of knowledge).

Woocommerce is a free and open source project, and if you think its lacking something tolerate it, and report it on its repository (on and explain whats wrong and if you have a fix, then fork the project and send a pull request with patch so it gets fixed and you get what you want and others benefit from your contribution.

Hope you understand that and be respectful and careful what you say on public forums.

    I apologize for this misunderstanding.

@macrunner, just to confirm, did the feature I screenshot in my last reply do what you needed?

    @ mikejolley,
I see the screenshot and I realized that I was wrong.
    Sorry for this misunderstanding.

@macrunner, ok great. It would be great if you could update your review to reflect this 🙂

If you spot any other issues making WC non compatible with your juristiction, feel free to log them here for review so that I am aware:

    Hello macrunner,
I think that you apply VAT-rules incorrectly.
Within EU, as far as I know, shipping & packaging costs have to be invoiced at the same tax rate as the product you are shipping.
So it is not correct to tax the shipment/packaging at 21%.
