• Hi, long story short. I am new to WP and became a webmaster for http://theleavenworthbassclub.org. It had a bbpress forum on it that was getting heavily spammed. I attempted to clean it up but the task was daunting so I deleted it and tried to start over. I downloaded bbpress 2.4.1 and tried to get it back up and running again.
Before I deleted the forum it had it’s own bbpress theme page. I cannot get it back and have spent hours trying to find any bbpress theme pages. I do not know where the original theme page came from but I would like to get it back.
    Where are the default themes?

  • The “default” theme is inside the BBPress pluign folder. If your last webmaster made modifications to that, then your actions to delete and over-write it will have deleted those files too.

Hopefully that’s not the case – any semi-decent webmaster would know not to change the standard template files. Having said that, there’s still a lot that do. If you have the templates set up in your theme the way that they should be, look inside your themes main folder for a folder called bbpress. Inside that folder is where any updated/changed BBPress templates should be be kept. Anything that’s not in there will fall back to the default templates in the plugin, and anything that’s not there will default back to the standard theme templates.

If all else fails, I’d suggest talking to your hosting copany and see if they have any backups available from before you deleted the plugin files. They might so it’s worth asking the question.

I cannot get access to the root directory. I don’t have a backup of the web site as I cannot get access. I can’t see what’s happening and was hoping there was a way around it. I appreciate the response.
