 * Hi!
 * I am having an issue with Hueman and getting bbPress and sidebars to work!
 * Without messing with the default layout & sidebars, the forum page is full-width.

   The forum page is an actual page; the likes and sharing buttons are not supposed
   to be shown, but they show up anyway at the bottom.
 * I wanted to use the bbPress WP tweaks plugin to have the bbPress sidebar on the
   forum page. But it won’t show up even when I can get the page to have a sidebar.
   I’ve gone into the bbPress WP tweaks plugin settings to try and render it from
   each of the options it has…and nothing. I’ve messed with the layouts, the sidebar
   defaults, the page itself and the settings…and nothing. Nothing works!
 * I’ve spent hours on this and I’m getting quite annoyed with it all. I am hoping
   someone here can help me because I really like the theme and the forums together…
   and I’m just ready to get rid of them both. :\
 * Link to the forums (which I use Membership to block access to for not signed
   in members, but I’ve undone it for help) is here: [csjaney.com/forums](http://csjaney.com/forums)
 * Thanks for anyone who can help me!!

 * The buttons seem to be coming from “sharedaddy”. A plugin you’ve installed? Could
   try disabling it and using some other perhaps.
 * > The forum page is an actual page
 * What if, you:
    1. Go to Theme Options > Sidebars. Create a new sidebar called“
   forum” or whatever. Save. 2. Go to the edit the actual forum page, scroll down
   below the large text field, select the “forum” sidebar in the “Primary Sidebar”
   dropdown. Save. 3. Go to Appearance > Widgets and add your custom widgets in
   your “forum” sidebar box.

 * Alex,
    Nope. I don’t have a plugin for the sharing stuff. Those are the ones
   that are set up through the WP site itself. They are even turned off in the page
   itself, so I’m not sure WHY they are showing up. It’s weird! 😀
 * The sidebar thing didn’t work. The page just stays full-width no matter what
   I do. I even changed the default layout IN the page to one with a sidebar because
   the global is full width…and it didn’t change. However, if it put the GLOBAL
   in a layout with one sidebar, it shows the sidebar with the ‘follow’ on top and
   a search menu only…none of my sidebars have a search menu only. I’m not sure
   why it’s stuck. I’ve also uninstalled and reinstalled. I’m thinking it is something
   I’m doing but I’m not quite sure what it could be.
 * Should I deactivate every single plugin and do bbpress and stuff first and see
   if the others are interfering?

 * Are you sure that it’s not the “Primary” sidebar box (the default one), that
   has that widget in it?
 * Also, what if you try this in Theme Options > Layout.
    1. Set global layout to
   full width if that is what you want. 2. Set Archive and Single layout to the
   sidebar layout you want on the forums. Does it show up?
 * I haven’t really tested the theme with bbPress but may need to install it and
   give it a shot and see how it all works. Just not able to do it today.
 * I may need to add a sidebar and layout option in admin for is_bbpress() to sort
   this out.

 * The secondary sidebar has the search in it, not the Primary one. Did as you suggested
   and nothing changed.
 * An option for it in the theme would be great! It picks up the theme (especially
   colors) really well, so that’s a plus already. I really like this theme & think
   it makes organization so easy!
 * I can deal with it for now; I just wanted the bbpress options in the sidebar
   next to the forums so people would have stuff like topics & replies & such instead
   of having to search through the forums one by one.
 * I will go through and disable all the plugins and see what happens. And let you
   know! 🙂

 * Okay.
    Deactivated everything. Turned bbPress back on. Primary sidebar shows
   up with just the archives & category widgets. So adding a sidebar for forums
   and setting it in the page apparently doesn’t work. At least you know that now
   🙂

 * Oh hey…I fixed it…by accident.
 * I deactivated them all, then reactivated bbPress…followed by the tweaks. This
   got the sidebar working through bbPress WP Tweaks, but also deleted the forum
   page. So it looks like it works with the default setup of bbPress, but not if
   you use a created page for the forums in order to edit the content.

 * Alex,
 * Things I’ve learned while messing with site this evening:
 * The bbPress forums, even though it is a page (I thought it had deleted it but
   it didn’t), show up for the post type AND sidebars as ARCHIVE.
 * If I set the sidebar to bbPress sidebar from the tweak, it shows up just fine.
   But then, it shows up on anything to do with BuddyPress, like member profiles,
   activities, etc.
 * So how would I create a different archive sidebar for BuddyPress (which would
   have one universal sidebar) so it will not use the bbPress sidebar thanks to
   the setting for making it bbPress sidebar so it shows up? This would solve problems
   if I could just create a sidebar for things that are showing up as Archive pages.
   THANKS!
