If a bbPress dev can point me in the right direction then for sure! This plugin relies on using the_content
filter to add the inline TOC but as far as I can tell bbPress cleanses the filter if not using a bbPress specific theme. That means no inline TOC. The TOC+ widget works though.
Hey conjur3r, thanks for the response.
Thats great! I will try to use the sidebar as a temporary fix. Here are some articles I hunted down that might help you:
I’m guessing since bbPress is now a custom post type, you can create a custom wp_query? http://codex.wordpress.org/Class_Reference/WP_Query
Some bbPress hooks – http://etivite.com/api-hooks/bbpress/ (Found from here http://blogs.kent.ac.uk/webdev/2012/06/13/using-bbpress-plugin-hooks-for-wordpress/)
apply_filters( ‘the_content’, get_post_field( ‘post_content’, $page->ID ) ) )
I’m not sure if this will do the trick, but there’s a bunch of API calls on that page.

A similar issue someone is having – http://bbpress.org/forums/topic/the_content-filter-is-removed-by-not-restored-on-custom-wp_query/

The official bbPress Codex is… very lacking in documentation, let’s just say :-(. And their support forums is just like the wild wild west sometimes (dust ball if a topic is more complicated then “How do I create a topic”).
Let me know what you think, I’ll try my best to contact a bbPress dev and/or find out a bit more information on this.
