Thank you for reaching out with this message. bbPress works a bit differently than regular posts or pages, in the sense that it uses a dedicated template system.
Even though the topics and replies are custom post types, thus visible by the Social Pug, given that bbPress has a templating system to generate the HTML, functionality may break, as they use different functions than what themes use.
I’m not entirely sure if adding the buttons is possible. Can you please let me know where exactly you’d like the share buttons to appear? I might be able to provide more details if I have more information.
Also, if you could provide a few screenshots, so I can see the placement you’d like, that would help a lot.

I was referring to the standard at the bottom of the page under the content. In the options there is a choice of topics, forums, but nothing then and does not display.

Yes, the buttons don’t get displayed because bbPress works a bit differently than native WordPress when it comes to displaying content.
If you can let me know exactly where you’d like the buttons to appear, and also provide a screenshot so I can have a visual representation, I might be able to provide more details.
