Is this still an issue with v1.8
NB check settings: Settings > bbPressModeration > Display pending posts on forums = ‘Always display’
Works fine in my dev and staging environments
Let me know if this is still an issue
Just installed bbPress Moderation, but it doesn’t seem to work with BuddyPress 1.8.1. I just found the information showing that users who had previously permitted comments would be allowed to comment after installing bbpress moderation. I wish that were not the default.
However, the problem I’m seeing now is that once a comment is posted by a new user, the comment is “awaiting moderation”, but other users can see the topic – so, if the topic is loaded with foul language or other material that shouldn’t be there, it will still be visible.

Please note that this plugin is for bbPress (versions 2.0 and later) not BuddyPress (of any version) which is a different product completely …. The internals of the two products are different.
Try BP Moderation
I do have bbpress installed. I only mentioned buddypress because that is installed as well. Unfortunately, BP Moderation is totally defunct.

1. I assume you mean topics and replies and not comments. Comments are handled by WordPress and not bbPress / bbPress Moderation.
2. Check the ‘Settings > bbPress Moderation’ settings
Do not moderate A topic or reply by a previously approved author
Unchecking this setting will force moderation even on those users who have had previous topics or replies approved
However, the problem I’m seeing now is that once a comment is posted by a new user, the comment is “awaiting moderation”, but other users can see the topic – so, if the topic is loaded with foul language or other material that shouldn’t be there, it will still be visible.
Again go to the settings
Display pending posts on forums [] Always display
Uncheck this option. All pending posts will now not be displayed on the website.
You will still see thesein the admin backend
As far as BuddyPress support is concerned.
It is not currently supported by this plugin:
- I haven’t used BuddyPress
- I haven’t got around to looking at it’s functionality never mind it’s code
- I don’t know how compatible it is with my current code
The short of it is that I will unlikely be able to get around to integrating BuddyPress in the near future.
Sorry
