[Resolved] bbp_title() overiding genesis_seo_title()

  • Hi Jaredach,

    First, I’m not sure if everyone had this problem, but if I enable bbPress plugin all the titles will return with an empty value except bbPress page and Genesis SEO metabox (if we add value on that fields).

    How wise is it if I add this code?

    if ( class_exists( 'bbPress' ) )
    	remove_filter( 'wp_title', 'bbp_title', 10, 3 );

    Thanks
    – AP

    @jaredatch

    Using Genesis 2.0.1, Lifestyle child theme, WordPress 3.6, and bbPress 2.4 as a test, if I create a new forum XYZ and set the Doc Title to “CUSTOM TITLE”, that is what shows when load that specific forum.

    Is this not the case for you?

    The <title> work fine if on forum/topic page, even if I keep the Custom Document Title empty.

    This is fresh installation. http://wp.me/P3RZXL-K

    • WordPress 3.6
    • Genesis 2.0.1
    • Genesis Sample 2.0.1
    • bbPress 2.4
    • bbPress Genesis Extend 1.0.0

    As we can see, the <title> is blank for non forum/topic page.
    Must always fill Custom Document Title if want to display <title>.

    @jaredatch

    Figured it out. It’s a bug in bbPress 2.4.

    I was running trunk so I wasn’t seeing it. A fix should be out soon or you can just manually apply the patch until then 🙂

    Ahh … I see. Thanks for the info 🙂
