• Hi,

    Extremely necessary plugin!

But when you need to upload many media files to a custom folder – it really hard to make because this plugin required to:
    a) Upload all files to a default folder.
    b) Open and move EACH file one-by-one!!! Even with queue delays!

Why it so complex?? It’s just a terrible waste of time!!!

Your plugin really very lacks of possibility to:
    1) or best of all to set uploading folder before media files uploading.
    2) or a “batch move” – at top of media gallery list add a button “move to folder”, on press display a popup string with new file path, so users would be able to check all needed files and move them to a needed folder at once!

Amazing why this option still not implemented?!

    Add it please!

    Hi,

I totally understand what you’re asking.

This plugin has an integration with Joomunited’s WP Media Folder plugin.
Which once installed does exactly what you need.

No need to reinvent the wheel, when a plugin already do this (even if it’s a paid plugin) 😉

    Best regards

    Hi,
Maybe we don’t see the same way your question.
Also as my plugin is not coded nor supported by Joomunited, they may not know all the things you can do with it.

    a) Have possibility to set a new custom “physical’ path as “/Upload/Hotels/” for all files at once for a batch media files uploading?

Not exactly you can’t do that for all files, but with WP Media Folder you can upload files to a virtual folder, which will be reflected by my plugin as real folders.
In this case you create the folder “uploads” and the subfolder “hotels” and upload the files into this folder.

    b) After all media was upload, does your plugin gives possibility at media gallery to select many media files and change their “physical’ path for example form “/Upload/Hotels/” to “/Upload/Motels/”?

You just need to rename the Hotels forder to Motels and your files will be moved.
You can also drag and drop your files from the Hotels folder to the Motels folder.

Attached a screenshot of the process Screenshot

    Best regards

Thanks for a detailed answer even with video!

can you clarify about my question #1 – new batch media files uploading to a custom physical folder – how does it work?
    a) Nevertheless WP upload all files to a default folder like “Upload/Year/Month/” and your plugin then one-by-one but automatically move all files to a chosen destination custom folder?
    b) or automatically upload each new file to a custom folder directly-instantly?

    (@dbarrere)

    Answer a

WordPress uploads the file to the original folder.
Then WP Media Folder from Joomunited apply the virtual folder to the files.
And finally my plugin will move the files automatically from the original WP folder to the an actual folder based on the virtual one.

So it will move each file also one-by-one, just no need to enter a new physical path manually for each file.

Maybe it’s possible to re-make your plugin to work with WP Media Folder on files uploading by method (b) – directly-instantly upload new media files to a needed custom physical folders? :\

Yes it will move each file one by one asynchronously.

Maybe it’s possible to re-make your plugin to work with WP Media Folder on files uploading by method (b) – directly-instantly upload new media files to a needed custom physical folders? :\

WordPress is not designed to do what this plugins tries to achieve, there is a lot of coding restrictions coming from that.
That’s already something I tried to do but I didn’t succeed to find a way to do it.

Maybe try to ask WP developers to improve this functionality?

Any way big thanks for your plugin, it really very useful!
