# Basic Upload Path Question

 * I can’t find the answer to this anywhere. What is the difference between these
   three (not asking the difference between paths and URL’s…just what each of these
   does in the system):
 *  – Upload Path
    – Upload Url Path – File Upload Url

 * Upload URL and file upload path URL are the same, IIRC. They’re the URL your 
   file should be at.
 * Upload path is the path on your file system.

 * So, the question begs…if they are the same, why do you need both? The same goes
   for the Upload path. 99% of the time it would be the directory path from the 
   URL path. The other 1% of the time it could be configured in wpconfig…

 * The department of redundancies. Actually, to make sure older versions of WPMU
   remain compatible with the changes.
 * The upload path can be moved, so thats why it’s NOT in the wp-config 🙂
