    Hello,

For my future website, I want to buy images from stock online. What size in pixels or cm do I buy to fit a “banner” on a website that suits a desktop size.

    Thank you very much,
    ~Howard

  • So much of that depends on your design. Based on a common denominator of 1024 x 768, which is very low, you could go with a standard 728 x 90 banner.

Hi Gabe, thanks for the reply. I’m looking into a responsive theme that will display a banner on desktops {I presume they don’t display on other devices?}.
The width of the banner is hopefully to be around 35cm.
Is there a way I can convert to pixels?

“Based on a common denominator of 1024 x 768, which is very low” What do you mean by low please, res?

Appreciate your time and help, Howard.

35cm is about 1323 pixels according to translatorscafe.

And yes, I mean low resolution. 1024 x 768 was the standard a decade ago, which was OK for 17″ CRT monitors. I have no idea what the current stats are but I’m guessing 99% of users are displaying at least that these days.
