    Hi, I am a bit naive on this issue and need a little bit more understanding and clarification.

    In the past I have had a few bank transfer payments via my wordpress website that I never received. On all occassions I assumed they orders were cancelled but I am begining to think it’s a process maybe I do not know about.

    Considering all the bank transfer information is right, when someone pays would it automatically go to the bank or is it just an alert for something I have to do before the payment is accepted? Would I need to take their info to the bank? If Not then what am I doing wrong? Because everytime I follow up with the bank the money hasn’t been received.

    Having worked with WooCommerce for a bit this is how I understand it works.

    The Bank Transfer payment gateway is a manual process (if I can call it that). It requires the website visitor/customer to manually log on-to their bank account and sent the money to your bank account using the order number generated by your site as the payment reference. During this process, the order status will remain as ‘on-hold’.

    Once you have received the payment into your bank, you have to select the order online and mark as processing. Then after dispatching/delivering the goods, you can mark the order as complete.

    Along the way, the customer will receive emails (if you have opted to use this option) to update them as to the status of their order.

    Ah ok, so when they pay, then ‘my woocommerce website’ will send them the bank details, of which they will then have to go and put into my account right? So technically I just have to wait until they have completed this manual process as opposed to a website generated transfer or something like that?

    Thats correct. As long as you have your details entered correctly in the payment gateway settings and that the bank transfer options is active, when they click checkout, the details will be shown. They will also be listed on the order confirmation email.
