HI I have a spam registration every day, thank goodness its only one version of the same domain. I thought to use a ban email plugin, do you have a better idea?

    Hi,
an article on fighting the spam submissions you can read here https://wpadverts.com/doc/spam-submissions/

I am using this only for Registration (wordpress page is turned off) [adverts_add preselect_category=”1″ moderate=”1″ requires=”read”]

So ads require moderation but I would like to ban specific emails that keep registering, any ideas for a plugin for that? (they use the same domain but change username and they never try to post ads, but its a nuisance to delete them from the user group and then my email list also that is integrated with sign up)

Are you sure the users are registering from the [adverts_add] page? If you have the requires="read" param there then the users and spammers are seeing an error message only.

I searched in Pages for [adverts_add] and that is the only page, the spam registrations are about once or twice a day, they never try to place an ad, but the one is the same domain based email everytime. I just double checked and anyone can register is turned off.

Most likely the users are registering with the Author registration form as the [adverts_add] does not have an option to register at least not without posting an Ad as well.

So, when the user is registered does he have an Author profile created as well?

We do not have an option to disable registrations with a specific email or a wildcard email address but if I will find some free time I could write a code snippet that would do this.
