What is the purpose of this? I understand some dev thinks this is usefull because his/her implementations are better because he/she is closer to google? That would be terrible because it stops open devs from making plugins and if there is one thing we learned over the years it is you can never trust google like you might have done with Wave or Buzz and the many other tools google killed off once they lost interest.

I strongly discourage anyone from using this.

As you can read in the other reviews the code itself is just bad as it slows down your site a lot more than other plugins with the same functionality. WPSSO is nice and made by nice people.

@benutzername1 Sorry to hear you’re unhappy with the plugin. While the plugin may not suit your needs it’s primary purpose is to make it easy to implement the various Google products onto your site, while also allow users to view some basic metrics from those products within their WordPress dashboard.

While I can’t speak for other plugins I can say that Site Kit doesn’t have any negative performance impact when installed and activated, adding one single line of code in the form of a meta generator tag. Whether users then choose to implement the integrated Google products such as AdSense or Tag Manager manually or via Site Kit changes in performance may be attributed to how these products are setup at product level (ie. Some users may implement scripts and third party services via Tag Manager).

As Site Kit is primarily a backend operated plugin you can also compare your site’s source code with the plugin active compared to your site without the plugin active.
