    Just be honest it’s not that hard. Just be up front and say there is no such thing as a free version. sure you can download the plugin but if you actually want to be able to do anything with it you’ll have to pay. Just say that upfront dont even bother pretending there’s a free version when there really isn’t. Honesty goes a long ways nowadays since it’s so rare.

    Hey @jre1043

    EDD does have a free version and you can download it for free from here on WordPress.org.

    One you download and install the plugin, all you have to do is create your Downloads and connect a Payment Gateway (Stripe and PayPal included) and you are ready to accept payments. There are plenty of EDD users that use the Free version successfully without any issues.

    If you require extra functionality that is not in the core plugin, like Recurring Payments or Licensing then yes you would need to make a purchase via the website.
