    Hello.

I am using BadgeOS with the Sensei Add-on. I have lessons that are tied to earning badges. Once the steps are created (all of which are completing a Sensei Lesson or Quiz) and I save the draft or publish, the steps disappear from the edit view for the badge. It appears as if the steps were not added at all. However, when viewing the quest in the browser, the steps are clearly there. If I try to add steps again, the old ones plus the new ones will appear in the browser view, even though they are not all visible in the edit view.

There is no way to go back and edit the steps or change a “step label” in BadgeOS (even if there is a typo). The only work around I have found is to recreate the badge from scratch (after first deleting the old one.) and adding the steps the way I want them. (Of course, they can’t be edited once they are added.)

    Any thoughts?
    Thanks.

  • Thanks Michael,

I’ll make sure everything is up to date and I will run some tests.

    Thanks again.

Any luck with this Justin? or have you not found a moment to test yet? 🙂

Hey Michael. I haven’t had a chance to test yet. I’m currently working on a Masters Degree, so it’s been taking up most of my time. I’ve updated all the plugins and will give it a few tests to let you know.

    Thanks for checking back.

on a side note, is there anyone I can talk to about using some of the badgeOS action and filter hooks? I’m new to wordpress as a developer and I’m not too sure about how to use them to extend my site.

example: Sensei provides a learner profile page, I was looking to add the users current badges to the profile along with the users current total points earned. Stuff like that.

Well, if you’re trying to add content/data to a page that WooThemes’ Sensei plugin provides, you’d need to check their documentation for the proper hooks to use. That said, any tutorial regarding action/filter hooks with WordPress will apply to this, so no need for specialized tutorials about the two plugins at hand. Doing that wouldn’t use any hooks that BadgeOS has, but it would potentially use functions that we have available for fetching the correct content. Hope that makes sense.

That said, I hope your masters program is going well and you’ll succeed there. Understandable that that type of thing would take up a lot of time too.

Hello Michael, I ran a few tests and all is good with “saving the steps” for me.

on a side note, I wanted to go into more detail on my last response. Could I email you the details?

If you’re referring to your comment regarding actions/filters, it’d probably be more beneficial all around to just start a new thread here on the forum. That way someone else passing by could see it and learn as well. Something that’s not possible in private email. Of course if there’s any point that needs private credentials exchanged, we’d do that part via email, and then resume the discussion in the thread.

Regardless, good to hear that the issue at hand has subsided and everything’s working like expected again.

Thanks for all the help Michael. I will start a new forum post.

    Hi there,

I am sorry to re-open this topic, but with my wordpress installation I still have trouble to see the steps involved to achieve a badge…

I am running on WordPress 4.0.1, Sensei 1.6.5, BadgeOS 1.4.3 and BadgeOS Sensei Add-On 1.0.1

Since the first time I cannot see the various steps that I created and it looks like the plugin is not working because I have created a badge for “the first time login” and it looks like is not working with my students…

As you can notice from my previous statement, this problem does not involve only Sensei-relate badges, but it will affect all my badge system. I have a W3 Total Cache plugin installed on my WordPress as well, do you think is that the problem?

If so, how will I be able to have a cache system and a badge system in my installation?

Thank you in advance and have a great day!

Andrea, if you would be so kind, let’s get a thread started for your issue(s) specifically. There’s a lot of previous replies in this thread that would muddle up response.

    Hi Michael,

I’ve followed your suggestion and created this discussion: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/badge-os-and-sensei-cant-see-steps

    But still I haven’t heard from anyone…

It is because I’ve insert the wrond title? Anyway, can you help me up with this issue because I am getting ready to launch my platform and I would love to give badges to my students…

Thank you in advance and all the best!

Oops, I’m sorry about that. It somehow slipped past me. I’ll respond to it this afternoon.

    Hi Michael

I ‘m sorry for my bad english …

I am having the same problem as previously mentioned . My versions are :

    BadgeOS Sensei Add-On V1.0.1
    BadgeOS v1.4.4
    Sensei: 1.4.7

Although the extension is activated any of Sensei BadgeOS parameters apparrait . I can not choose the type of special achievement ” sensei ” . I have verified that the add-on is properly activated yet .

    Thank you for your reply

Which issues? I think this thread outlines a number of different user issues as there are many different voices chiming in. It may be best to start your own thread and outline the details you’re experiencing alone, so that I can better focus on the issues at hand.
