 * Does wordfence stop bad bots in the same way as other bad boy plugins (ie by
   maintaining a list) and automatically blocking known bad bots?

 * Hi [@dgilfillan](https://wordpress.org/support/users/dgilfillan/),
 * The Wordfence security network maintains a list of malicious IP addresses that
   are attacking websites. If you have `Participate in the Wordfence Security Network`
   activated within Wordfence -> Settings, you will be protected against IPs on
   that list.
 * Note that most bad-bots do not supply a useragent, and that is why the Wordfence
   security network is more effective than just a useragent blacklist.
 * Dave
