I have the exact same problem, but only with the database backup job.
I have only 2 jobs: 1 for the files and 1 for the database.
For me, the database job actually runs 6(!) times, some with an error, some not.
Also, the upload to SugarSync fails quite frequently, with the error “[ERROR] SugarSync API: cUrl Error: couldn’t connect to host”.
Could you maybe add an option to retry the upload, like once or twice?
Besides these problems, I really am happy with your plugin, it’s definitely the best available! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Do either of you use W3 Total Cache?
I believe that Daniel is investigating a potential issue working with W3 Total Cache.
(I have the same problem as you describe too Bobtb)
I don’t use it, nor do I use any other “speed optimization” plugins.
one littel think i will fix with the next release that a job cane run too time at the same time. But W3 Total Cache forces a backup comes saverel times.
My fix came in my in the next day….
I’m not sure if you’re saying there’s a fix for this issue now, but if you are, is it related to W3 Total Cache?
Because I’m not using that, will it still work for me?

I am also not using any casing plugins. And had my hosting account suspended after using BackWPup 🙁
You can read it hear http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-backwpup-run-away-backup-process/page/2?replies=38#post-2195070
Anything new regarding this issue?
My database backup job still run 4 times.
Just upgraded to the latest version.
Looks even better than it did already, great job Daniel!
I’ll keep an eye out on the number of DB backups 😉
i will make a next try for W3 total chache, i have removed all chache prevention. Because i have become 2 plugin that workt with w3 total.
Good news! Both my backup jobs only ran once and they completed without any error!
Great job.
did you use the development version ?
I don’t think so, I’ve only been updating through the WP dashboard.
