• I attempted to use backWPup on a client’s webhostinghub.com site and it crashed their server and I am instructed to not use it again.

    “After speaking with your developer, I unsuspended the site, however the server once again started to come down. This time we were able to pin down the backWPup plugin as causing the massive levels of disk io which were slowing down the whole server. This plugin has been disabled so we would not have to suspend the site once again. Please send this info on to your developer and do not re-enable this plugin.

    I realize there could be many reasons for this. Any insight would be helpful.

  • I would add that after running p3profiler, backwpup took 63% of the time. I am not sure why it needs to do anything on the front-end posts and pages.
