Why do you feel it’s a backwards step, what about the experience made it feel like things were moving in the wrong direction? We would love to hear a bit more details about your experiences.
(On a side note, garlic bread is delicious, and goes really well with lasagna if you haven’t tried it yet 🙂 )
You should at least give people the option of keeping the classic editor. I have been using WordPress for 10 years. I’ve used different systems, classic one is favourite. Tried several posts (which take me average 20 minutes, with gutenberg 50minutes average time), plus Ive already lost 3 writers who don’t want to use gutenberg, if I lose anymore I will have to close the site
We are giving users that option, the Classic Editor plugin will ensure that the current classic editor is loaded, and not the new editing experience.
I’d love to hear some more about which editing flows you feel are adding to the extended time you need to create posts, if you wouldn’t mind sharing?
worked with Wysiwyg since 1995 when I entered graphic design college/university worked with it ever since, tried those new ones gutenberg over the years and length of time creating posts/work just took longer, was advised with a senior designer to keep to what you know best, as you know where what you want is , don’t change. and that advised has worked well for me ever since.
I always try new ways, so I can say “I’ve tried” so have the writers who left and they were the same, didn’t like it.
