Backups Not Being Deleted even though settings are set

    I have this problem on multiple sites. I have had the setting set to save 2 weekly files backups and 4 daily database backups. But on this site (and others), we get warnings about space, and I go in and find 100+ backups stored.

    I don’t use mulitsite. We typically host at Siteground. It works on some sites, but not all. Why is it not paying attention to the settings?

    Hi there,

    Could you please tell me if the space is running out on the local server or the remote storage?
    In the first case (local) you could check to see if Delete local backups is enabled in the settings.

    Another reason backups can pile up is if your remote storage is inaccessible for some reason.
    If you can provide a backup log file from a problem site using PasteBin it helps identify issues.

    Local. I do not have it set to go to remote.

    Ah – delete local backups under “Advanced” settings is not checked. I didn’t realize that was even there. Let’s see if that does the trick.
