# Backup routine check

 * Just trying to keep my backup setup clean. I update my site only a few times 
   a week. Would you suggest keeping the default backup schedule, or setting separate
   times for files and database backups?

   The default backup setting on my recent install is Manual so that’s
   not scheduled as such.The basic rule with backups is they should be a reflection
   of how often the site is changing.A part of the logic of having separate schedule
   options for files and database is the activity.On a site where new uses are added
   say daily, it would be better to backup a database daily.However the same site
   content may only change weekly, so files could be backed up weekly.In summary,
   base schedule settings on how often changes to content and database happen.Best
