    Hi there,

    I’m not very familiar yet with the WordPress-dbases.
    I have one WordPress installed at my main domain, and one on my subdomain.
    My assumption is, these are two different dbases.
    When I use BackWPup on my subdomain and I choose to do a full backup, will it backup only the subdomain?
    So logically: I could restore the subdomain indepently from my main domain?
    Or not?

    In the third video of OSTraining, halfway, you see the tab DB Backup, where only the files of the current installation are selected. It is said ‘there are other installations’ as well… So now I’m not sure how it works exactly. 🙂

    Can someone shed some light on this for me?
    Thanks!

    Hi @myrax,
    about your question, if your both site is not in the same database, my answer is yes, BackWPUp will backup only that domain, and you could restore the subdomain independently from your main domain

    If you’re running WP Multisite, by default, BackWPUp will backup all your database( contains all sites in network), but you can go to job setting, Db Backup tab, and then manually choose the table you want to backup 🙂

    Hope that help you!

    Thanks for that.
    With regards to this “if your both site is not in the same database”.
    How can I check whether domain and subdomain have differenct dbase?

    @myrax,
    you can open file wp-config.php of both site( it’s located in your website root), and find the line define(‘DB_NAME’, ‘your_database_name_here’);, if these files have different value so that both of them are not in the same database
    Hope that help 🙂
