Support » Installing WordPress » Backup is incomplete

  • Hello.

    I backed up my wordpress database as an .sql file per the backup instructions. I was having problems with my previous wordpress, so I decided that rather than upgrade to 2.7, I’d just start over.

    The problem is, that when I uploaded my database, my blog lacks any theme, or capability to get into the admin.

    If you visit my blog at, you will see. Even go to /wp-admin and it can’t find the page.

    I know I can start from scratch, but I really want my old posts back. I don’t mind redoing my theme and whatnot, I just at least want the posts organized, tagged, dated etc. as they were. Thanks for any help!

    <!--[if lt IE 8]>
    	<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" href="" />
    	<!--[if lte IE 6]>
    	<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" href="" />
    .. so on so forth.

    when you dont have all the files uploaded .. you can expect this result.

    your current install is looking for a theme that is NOT locatable on your site. That has nothing to do with your backup being incomplete. It has to do with you.
