backup folder MIGHT be visible to the public

  • Hi,
I got this message on the dashbpard:

“Your backup folder MIGHT be visible to the public

To correct this issue, move the .htaccess file from wp-content/plugins/wp-dbmanager to /home/content/e/d/t/MyUserName Here/html/wp-content/backup-db “

I connected to my site via FTP and found the .htaccess file in wp-content/plugins/wp-dbmanager

Problem is that I can’t find the /home/content/e/d/t/my user name here/html/wp-content/backup-db
Where can I find this directory?

    Thanks for your help!

  • just go to the wp-content folder, then the backup-db folder and put it there

I believe it’s just giving a generic path

Thank you for your help. I did what you suggested but that sign didn’t go away, any other ideas?

You moved it, and did not copy it, correct?

correct. I saved it to my desktop, deleted it from that directory and then uploaded it to the new directory that you told me to. I do have some doubts that it’s the correct directory though since according to WP instructions it had a longer thread with my admin login name in it and some other stuff (you can see on my original post.

Correct… that is your hosting path.

Those are all server level directories that you do not have access to.

html is probably the directory you start in…. so from there you would just go to wp-content

Did the backup-db folder already exist, or did you have to make it?

Yes, the backup-db folder already did exist.

I forgot about this part of the installation… it’ beena long time since I set it up

Did you rename the file to remove .txt?
