Hi, I want to use the Plugin to migrate a WP Site to local host an the backup on the livehost fails with this error message. What can I do to make it work please? Thanks in advance.

Hi @irgendwascom

Looks like you have some broken files on your server.
It’s good to exclude such files, but it’s also difficult to locate them.

Nevertheless we have a method which should automatically detects these and continue the backup.

Could you please try different backup technique (you can find it in „other options” section) at the bottom:
- “Bypass web server limits – it will disable automatic backup and possibility to run it in the background”
- Don’t forget to save the settings 🙂

Hi @iclyde again, I now wanted to migrate the sucessful live backup to my localhost and did “super-quick migration” with pasting the backup link in. The migration shows up the following error and fails. Can you help me again please? I installed a clean WordPress and the Plugin and after that immediately wanted to migrate the backup.

Hi @irgendwascom

The error you get means that:
[ERROR] [2021-09-01 13:01:05] Missing manifest means that the backup is probably invalid.

Please make sure the backup is visible on the backups list on your source server (where you made the backup), if it’s there that means the backup is valid – it can display only valid backups.

Checklist:
a) Make sure the backup is visible on the site where you made it (on the list)
b) If it’s there download the backup and try to open it (extract)
c) If you can extract it try to upload downloaded backup to your destination site
– You can do that via FTP or by placing it in the Finder (as I can see you’re using Mac OS for that)
d) Try to run the restore again by clicking green restore button on the list

– If the backup is not visible on the source site
a) Try to make the backup again, and make sure it’s visible and downloadable then process to migration with steps above.

the alternate backup method worked and i used the backup to migrate the site, said the migration was successful, but the site doesn’t work, it give a 500 error.
So i guess i’ll be using a different plugin.
