Support » Plugin: WooCommerce » Backorders disabled, but orders keep coming with products in backorder

  • Resolved ohettema

We have a problem with orders that are placed with products that are sold out, while the backorder option is disabled on these products. This happens when the product was placed in the basket a while ago and the customer orders later (days, hours). In the meanwhile the product is sold out, but the order can still be placed. New customers cannot add the products to basket, which is the way it should be.
How can this be solved for customers that already placed the product in the basket, but the order is placed later and in the meanwhile the product is sold out?

During the final checkout process, WooCommerce does a double check to make sure the items in the cart all have valid stock.

It also does this on the cart page quite a few times. You should be able to test this by adding an item to your cart, then setting the product to 0 stock, then going back and updating the cart – it will remove the item.

So there is something else involved here, likely another plugin causing conflicts.

I had a similar situation and there was a conflict with the plugin: WooCommerce Poor Guys Swiss Knife

Thanx @gronix and @icaleb, the issue is with the Poor Guys Swiss Knife indeed! I disabled it and it works. Now need to figure out how to fix it….

Has anyone else had this issue at all, all of sudden our website has started to do this, We have managed stock enabled and when a product reaches Zero they are still able to order even though the option to back order is disabled and if we go into the product and as a test untick manage stock the stock status defaults to Allow BackOrders but if we put it back to Manage Stock the Back order option is not allowed.

No plugins have been added to our website recently and we are still stuck on why this is happening.
