 * Well my web host right now (well for the last few weeks) have completely gone
down the drain, the cPanel license got unactivated and they havn’t activiated
so I can’t access cPanel (mainly phpmyadmin which I wan’t to use). So basically
what I want to do is backup all my posts from wordpress and then later restore
it when my site goes back up.
 * I tried the one click backup/restore plugin for wordpress and it successfully
makes a file called10062005wordpress.sql, but what do I do then? I was trying
to see if it works so I made a bunch of garbage posts, made a backup, then deleted
all those posts. When I tried to use the restore feature, absolutely nothing
happened. Any advice on why this isn’t working or another method that I could
use to backup my posts (except go to each one and copy it onto word then paste
it on later, cuz I have quite a bit of posts)?
 * PS. When using the plugin to restore, it says everything went successful:
    `mysql-
   hDB_HOST -uDB_USER -pDB_PASSWORD -f DB_NAME < /home/bball2/public_html/swc/wp-
   content/backup/10062005wordpress.sql Restore successful.`

 * Have you checked out the detailed explanation for backing up WordPress (without
   a plugin) on the Codex?

 * Uhm yeah… Both of those require phpmyadmin which I said I didn’t have access
   to at the moment.

 * Sounds like you’re changing hosts so why not try restoring into a clean install
of WordPress on your new host. That’s not very helpful I know but maybe worth
a try. At least there you might have phpmyAdmin to look at what actually restored.

 * Can you contact your host and ask them to make a copy for you? Maybe they would
   have sufficient access to it?

 * If you don’t have access to phpmyadmin, try: [http://www.binslashbash.org/?page_id=35](http://www.binslashbash.org/?page_id=35)

 * Thanks for all the help everybody and I found a solution! The link you gave me
macmanx was for a plugin for a database manager, the plugin there had a faulty
zip file but that reminded me of another plugin. Lester Chan’s awesome database
   manager plugin:

 * I remember seeing it a few weeks ago and put a note somewhere to try it, and
now that I was forced to, it worked perfectly! Everyone should try that plugin,
it was very easy to setup and use, and it was quick and effective!! It can optimize
databases as well! Big thanks Lester!
 * You can get the script here [http://www.lesterchan.net/others/downloads.php](http://www.lesterchan.net/others/downloads.php)
