  • Hi, I was wondering if someone could explain (and help me fix) why the color of my background shows up in firefox but not safari. here is the link to my wordpress site:

also, on a somewhat different note, i know that due to system differences, colors will show up different on PCs and Macs…but is there any way that I can somehow sort of compensate for these differences…is there a program that i can use to figure out what colors work best or do you have any other suggestions that might help me?

p.s. aahh crap, i did something and now everything looks messed up. my footer is in my sidebar. grr. but that doesn’t matter. i’ll fix all of that later. my question still remains the same though. why does it look different in firefox and safari!??!

  • Because Safari uses a different rendering engine and different layering techniques.
Do a search on problems with Safari here in the forums – there are lots of posts. Perhaps someone has a fix for you in one of those.

    hey there,
i know this was a while ago so you’ve probably resolved it – but the same thing happened to me and it turned out to be just because i was missing the } on my css. thankfully i spotted it pretty quickly, but it could have been a headache!
